The Seattle Plumber Recommends.........
Restaurants
Dont forget to tell them - "The plumber sent me!"
These 100% unbiased recommendations by a local guy who
likes to eat - and knows the difference!
Always adding more great places to eat - check often!
Via Tribunali, 913 E Pike St, Seattle, WA 98122 (206)
322-9234 also at 317 W Galer St. on Queen Ann. Great
Napoli style pizza. Thin crust, single size only, roman
tomato sauce, I highly recommend the pizza margarita
with Buffalo mpzzerella ($15.00). Peroni beer on tap.
It's cheaper than airfare to Naples. I think it is the
best pizza in town.
Bambino's East Coast Pizzeria, 401 Cedar St. Seattle,
WA 98121 206-269-2222 Another thin crust Napoli pizza.
I think their cheese mix is too stinky (but I like mozzerella
the best). They add a lot of parmesian. They deliver
on Queen Anne though - try it.
Bick's Broadview Grill, 10555 Greenwood Ave. N. Seattle,
WA 98133
206-367-8481 Good local hangout right off Holman road.
Not too many good places to eat in this neighborhood.
Highly recommend for nightly dinner specials, burgers
and a large selection of bottled hot sauces. Definitely
recommended.
Blue C Sushi (Fremont) 3411 Fremont Ave. N. Seattle,
WA 98103 206-633-3411 Just OK sushi. Conveyer belt delivery.
Novel but I prefer Chiso a block away at considerably
more cost.
Buca di Beppo (Seattle), 701 Ninth Ave. N. Seattle,
WA 98109 206-244-2288
Large portions poorly prepared by neophytes in the kitchen,
but hey - its pretty cheap.
Buenos Aires Grill, 2000 Second Ave. Seattle, WA 98121
206-441-7076 Sorry - this place really sucks. Maybe
it was just the rude inconsiderate waiter that got his
panties in a knot when he discovered I really wasn't
interested in an expensive wine. Made us wait and hunt
him down every time we needed anything like water, food,
bread. Don't bother as the steak I finally got was just
ok.
Cactus, 4220 E. Madison St. Seattle, WA 98112-3237
206-324-4140 Interesting, noisey Southwest menu with
a flair. This is a good place for margaritas.
Cafe Paloma, 93 Yesler Way Seattle, WA 98104-2530 206-405-1920
Pioneer Square. Really good inexpensive little joint
with meditreanean influenced Turkish dishes?? Check
it out. Beer and wine and music on the weekends.
Canlis Restaurant, 2576 Aurora Ave. N. Seattle, WA
98109-2299 206-283-3313 The view is great - I think
of this place as the Don Ho restaurant of Seattle (overpriced
surf and turf with cheap champagne with little bubbles)-
I must admit though that I haven't eaten here in 15
years. I am sure that the menu has changed since I was
here last.
Carmelita, 7314 Greenwood Ave. N. Seattle, WA 98103
206-706-7703 Very good vegetarian place. You should
check this place out even if you are a carnivore as
the sauce magic is exceptional. Antbody that can turn
vegetables into consistantly interesting and full flavered
main entrees deserves to have a following...I highly
recommend eating here at least once.
Catfish Corner, 2726 E. Cherry St. Seattle, WA 98122-4936
206-323-4330 Get ready for catfish! When I,m in the
neighborhood it's either catfish or Etheopian food -
sorry but the catfish is better. They have Jambulia
once a week. Eat the catfish and chips - it is good.
very casual.
The Chile Pepper, 1427 N. 45th St. Seattle, WA 98103-6706
206-545-1790 --I used to own a small restaurant in the
U dist in the 80's and discovered that I was a better
plumber than a restaurant owner thus I sold it to the
Chili Pepper people. They abandoned my menu and went
for the matriarch's cooking which obviously worked as
a few years later they moved it to Wallingford and theyare
still there. Family recipes.
Chiso, 3520 Fremont Ave. N. Seattle, WA 98103 206-632-3430
Japanese and sushi. A little NW style thrown in. I think
the fish is very fresh and the cooking style is very
refreshing. not cheap, casual too
Coastal Kitchen, 429 15th Ave. E. Seattle, WA 98112
206-322-1145 Good menu all three meals breakfast, lunch
or dinner. Lots of fish and regional specialties. Noisy
and casual
Crow, 823 Fifth Ave. N. Seattle, WA 98109 206-283-8800
Bistro cooking at its best. The chicken breast with
procuitto is incredible. Limited menu but it is all
very good. full bar. You will like it.
The Dish Cafe, 4358 Leary Way N.W. Seattle, WA 98107-4554
206-782-9985 This place has the best breakfast menu
in town for the classics like corned beef and eggs.
The best burger in town I think. good coffee in mugs.
Do check it out - you won't be sorry.
El Gaucho (Belltown), 2505 First Ave. Seattle, WA 98121
206-728-1337 Save your money....pretensious, way overpriced
and indifferent service.
Fu Man Dumpling House 14314 Greenwood Ave. N., Seattle
206-364-0681 Excellent dumplings!! Small casual and
inexpensive. Hand made on the spot. I find their garlic
sauce overwhelming so I ask for chili paste and vinegar.
Recommended.
Georgia's Greek Restaurant 323 N.W. 85th St., Seattle
206-783-1228 Pretty good eats. I found the lamb souvlaki
too tough but the place is ok.
Harvest Vine 2701 E. Madison St., Seattle 206-320-9771
Excellent high end tapas style small dishes with a great
Spanish wine list. Think of this place as a NW Spanish
eclectic restaurant.
Hoki's Teriyaki Hut 3624 Leary Way N.W., Seattle 206-634-1128
Not for me! Go here if you like sloppy boiled cheap
teriyaki.
Honey Court 516 Maynard Ave. S., Seattle 206-292-8828
Chinese seafood. Very good casual and right in the middle
of the Imternational district.
House of Hong Restaurant 409 Eighth Ave. S., Seattle
206-622-7997 Sorry this place is not good. Indifferent
food and staff. We call this place "The house of
honk".
Husky Deli 4721 California Ave. S.W., Seattle 206-937-2810
Try this deli! They make their own ice cream, wonderful
sandwich selection, a large candy counter and they have
the best English teas.
I Love Sushi 1001 Fairview Ave. N., Seattle 206-625-9604
Lower Queen Anne - Another conveyer belt sushi place.
It is better and cheaper than Blue-C sushi in Fremont.
Il Terrazzo Carmine 411 First Ave. S., Seattle 206-467-7797
#1 Italian in town. Dress up and make a reservation.
Jones Barbeque 3810 S. Ferdinand St., Seattlle 206-722-4414
The best bbq in town. Go. They moved to south of Sodo
and have restricted hours apparently as they were closed
on a Saturday night. Are they only lunch now? I don't
know. Call em.
Kabul 2301 N. 45th St., Seattle 206-545-9000 Afgani
food. If you haven't tried it - get there now! Wonderfully
fragrant dishes here. Best lamb and eggplant. The cumin
favored rice is devine.
Kasbah Moroccan 1471 N.W. 85th St., Seattle 206-788-0777
Take the kids here as they can eat with their fingers
while sitting on big cushions.
Anthony's HomePort, 6135 Seaview Ave. N.W. Seattle,
WA 98107
206-783-0780 Shilshole. I like this traditional Seattle
fish house and the bar and view ain't bad. This is my
first choice in Shilshole. Located next to Rays Boat
House. Suitable for the family and business lunch and
dinner.
Agua Verde Cafe & Paddle Club, 1303 N.E. Boat St.,
Seattle, WA 98105
206-545-8570 on the water, at the UW. Good mexican,
great place to hang out on the deck with a ship canal/Lake
Union breeze.
Smokin Petes B-B-Q 1918 NW 65th St. 206 783-0454 (Ballard)
This new place is located in the old butcher shop. The
pork sandwich is very good. Very casual atmosphere for
quick lunch and dinner. The original sauce is not hot
(not even the extra hot) but it has a nice flavor. website:
www.smokinpetesbbq.com 04/26/04
Qazis Indian Curry House 473 North 36th St. (206) 632-3575
(Fremont) The lunch buffet is the most flavorful and
well thought out Indian Buffet Lunch in town ($7.95)!!!
The most quality for the buck I have seen anywhere.
I can't get over how good it was! I've been there twice
in three days. They added samosas to the table. Don't
miss it. 04/26/04 Updated Aug 2006
Phuket Thai Cuisine 517 Queen Anne Ave. (206) 284-3700

expected. Check it out! 02/15/04
Chada Thai Restaurant, 308 N 125th St.(greenwood) Absolutely
the best Phud Tai noodles in town! I have eaten noodles
all over the world and I vote this one the best! I have
eaten here for 12+ years! Try the Panang chicken curry
(at least 2 stars hot!) and the boneless trout. You

August 2007

N. 98103 206.526.8828 Great food with some very interesting
culinary twists! Casual atmosphere, open for lunch and

out the #3 fresh turkey breast! Try the coffee too -
he roasts it there!!
Masala Indian Cuisine, 539 Ne Northgate Way, (Northgate)
One of our favorite Indian restaurants. Great spices

New Kowloon (International district) Jackson St. My
current favorite for Dim Sum
Saito Japanese Cafe & Bar, 2120 2nd Ave (Belltown)

here!

lamb around too. Casual and great service.
Kolbeh, 1956 1st Ave South (Soho) Iranian lamb rack
dish is the one to get. The basmati rice is sooooo good
and the eggplant / hummus dishes are too good. Belly
dancers on the weekend (9:00 PM) There is a little primadonna
waitress there that demands attention from the regulars
- if you don't give her the attention she thinks she
deserves, she won't give you the time of day (I only
noticed this when my wife was there).

QA) Killer pasta, great wine list, specials are really
